SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Film title in English and Chinese
  • Upload a film poster
  • 30-100 words of the film synopsis in Chinese and English
  • Director’s bio (100 words max in English and Chinese)
  • Director’ statement of the film in Chinese and English (150 words max)
  • The list of the name credits in Chinese and English
  • The contact person’s name, phone number, Wechat ID and email.
  • Accept Baidu Pan cloud link (downloadable within 90 days settings for this festival)
  • Pay 150 RMB with Alipay using the code below

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 REQUIRED:

  • File format: WMV, MP4, FLV, or AVI
  • Duration: 4–10 minutes
  • Resolution: 4K
  • Subtitles: English subtitles required for all non-English words

PROHIBITED:

  • Branding: No brands or logos except those of authorized Competition Sponsors
  • Content: No political, racist, sexist, criminal, immoral, libelous, or defamatory content, and no content disparaging the People’s Republic of China (PRC) or unapproved by the China State Film Administration
  • Footage: No footage, photos, or content not produced for this competition
  • Safety: No content causing injury to people, animals, or public property
  • Suitability: No content inappropriate for audiences
  • Disqualification: The organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries that violate these guidelines.

ALLOWED:

  • Orientation: Vertical or horizontal format
  • Location: Filming can take place outside Shanghai
  • Effects: Animation and visual effects, including AI or other computer programs, are permitted
  • Music: Public domain or royalty-free music is allowed

LEGAL:

By submitting an entry, all participants agree to the following:

  • Release & Liability: Participants release and hold harmless the Shanghai AI Short Film Festival from all damages, liability, and criminal responsibility arising from their actions.
  • Compliance: Participants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including obtaining any required filming permits.
  • Intellectual Property: Entries must not infringe on any intellectual property rights. Participants are responsible for securing authorizations for any copyrighted materials used.
  • Ownership Rights: All entries must be original works and shall remain the property of the creators. The Shanghai AI Short Film Festival reserves the right to edit, screen, or post submitted films as deemed appropriate.
  • Privacy & Consent: Participants must obtain written consent from anyone appearing in the video, especially minors.
